Mahesh Babu is back and how! After back to back disappointments Superstar bounces back with a movie that has solid content as well as commercial appeal.
 Director Koratala Siva has come up with yet another winner after Mirchi.
 Srimanthudu is a film that will make you think with its message and make you go hang up with elevation scenes of the hero. 

 Mahesh Babu: One cannot imagine any other actor as Harsha. Mahesh gets into the skin of the character and takes every scene to another level with his spellbinding performance. There are different shades to this character and Mahesh does justice in every aspect. His handsome looks and charismatic styling adds value to the character. Watch out for his performance in the penultimate scene. 

 Shruti Haasan and Others: Shruti got an author backed role. She is extremely good in emotional scenes. Jagapathi Babu looked stylish as a rich father. He is quite impressive in the scenes with Mahesh. Rajendra Prasad is natural in a very important role. Vennela Kishore and Ali tried to add some fun to the proceedings. Sampath Raj and other villains are aptly cast.

Our hero is Shivudu (Prabhas), a prince who is smuggled out of his kingdom and raised by a different tribe. He grows up not knowing his lineage, but acquires some serious rock-climbing skills. If his wooing techniques are any indication, lurking under his hulking physique is an aspiring tattoo and make-up artist. In the first half of Bahubali, we see Shiva scampering up a mighty waterfall and pursuing the feisty Avanthika (Tamannaah), who is part of a rebel group that lives in a hideout, high up in the mountains. She is possibly the worst assassin in the history of all time, given how she doesn't notice minor details like Shiva's bulked-up self lying on a branch above her, painting paisleys on her shoulder. Then again, you know what they say — love is blind.

Shiva is besotted by Avanthika and so he marks her as his own by discreetly painting tattoos on her. Later, when they finally lock eyes on one another, he subjects her to aZorro-inspired striptease (mythical rebel heroines have nice underwear. In satin, no less) and in a flourish that will make stylists clap delightedly, Shiva turns Avanthika's green dhoti into a red skirt-type-thing. Avanthika sees herself post-makeover and sensibly decides Shiva is a keeper. Meanwhile in Mahishmati, King Bhallala Deva (Rana Dagubatti) shows off his rippling shoulder muscles and takes a giant bull by the horns, literally.

It appears like the makers wanted to present the film like a complete Allu Arjun film and have given good publicity to him and avoided Sandalwood's Real Star.

The murmurs on Upendra being ignored started after the teaser and trailers were released. In both the video clips, the Real Star does not have much presence and this has upset his fans. Especially, in the recently released trailer, the makers have presented the film like an out-and-out Allu Arjun's film.
